Ellen Freudenheim, About.com's Brooklyn guide, apologized yesterday for an "absolutely misleading, awful video" about Greenpoint that she says somehow appeared on her website without her consent. (That's it, above.)
She adds, "Don't watch it. It's all wrong. I work pretty hard to present Brooklyn honestly. This is garbage. Nobody at About.com asked my OK to post this. Am lodging a complaint. Expletive deleted."
The video's description is:
"A spit away from Manhattan is Greenpoint, an authentic Brooklyn neighborhood of tough guys and families with kids. Oh, and then there's the "Murder Bar..."
With that introduction we just had to watch it.
Some YouTube fans had positive things to say about the video, like this commenter: "Lived 10 years on Freeman street right next to the Tommie's murder bar hanged there all the time loved the action!"
