I was born to endure this kind of weather

My sister has been kind of killing it with the blog posts lately. But me, not so much. Feeling a bit like a broken record, at least, life feels like days in between days, as Elliott has just over a month left until his thesis forum. I'm looking forward to the finish of his master's program and to a new chapter of life, that hopefully doesn't include him staying up working until 1:30am. (He's so good though. He still gets up and makes the coffee when my alarm goes off. Just saying.)

We did get to have a little date last night, after his class and my haircut, we met for ramen in the East Village. I had been craving it for weeks, and it was just the ticket.

I don't want to jinx it by going on about the weather, but it really has been remarkable. We had a mild winter, I really only remember being truly COLD for about a week; we had two wet snow showers that barely accumulated, and I didn't even cook that much soup. [NB: I know, I know, it's not over, we've been hit by March snowstorms before.] But this March so far has been something else. This is my ninth spring in New York, and I have always lamented springtime in New York--so different from spring in the south. But THIS I can get behind. It's been in the 60's! And sunny! I even got a little hot walking around on Sunday. It's unlike any New York spring I've known, and I love it. I hope it's here to stay.

I would be remiss not to mention that Wendy was here last weekend from San Francisco and it was a good weekend. You know how sometimes at the end of a night you think, "that was really fun" or "we had the best time tonight." It really was like that all weekend. It's so good to stay friends.
